SGH Overseas Field Work in Tianjin, China December 2015

Overseas Field Work took a place in Dec.19 to 23, 2015. 14 students (6 from 1st grade, 8 from 2nd grade) of Global Leader course perticipated and visited Tianjin, China. Students learnt history, culture, school education (high school and university). They also visited medical institute and Japanese company. Tianjin is a city of motive power which supports chinese economy development which now China became a countyr of GNP ranks world's 2nd.

Student visited Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall and Tianjin Radio and Television Tower

Memorial Hall of Zhou Enlai, first premier of People's Republic of China and his wife Deng Yingchao. Childhood of Zhou Enlai, from his youth and footsteps of nation building of China, his accomplishment at the time of premier are displayed based on the topics.

Tianjin Radio and Television Tower

The 415 metres tall TV Tower, tallest building in Tianjin. The Observation hall is on the second story, 253 metres above the city. Visitors can overlook panoramic view of Tianjin city. However the day we visited, city was covered by smog, they could not view the city in far distance.

Ancient Culture Street

Ancient town with 800years history. The town can be said as birth place of Tianjin. There is a temple worships Tianhougong, goddess of ocean in the center of town. Students enjoyed their free time after the visit of temple. There are shops sell old books, toys, traditional handicraft and restaurants on 600meter long street.

Japanese language class in Tianjin Foreign Studies University Foreign Languages School →Cultural exchange gathering

Students participated classes in 1st grade in high school.　　English class was held in English only and Japanese class was held in Japanese only. At the cultural exhange gathering, students were amazed by language ability of Chinese students. Yokkaichi high school students performed a song "The Only Flower in the World" in Chinese.　　Chinese students knew Japanese　culture　very　well.　One　of　our　students　recieved a Christmas message in Japanese after coming home.

Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Tianjin　University　of　Traditional　Chinese　Medicine　is　one　of　the　earliest　universities　of　Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. TUTCM is divided into four areas of study incluing faculty of medicine. Students visited research rooms and laboratory rooms and saw laboratory instruments and models. They also had an opportunity to visit medical examination rooms and rehabilitation room. It was a surprise since students rarely had opportunity to get to visit such facilities in Japan.

Tianjin University of Technology

26,202 full-time students (more than 10,000 part-time students), 1,877 faculties. TUT offers 61 bachelor degree programs and 69 master programs. It is an institute of technology, however they offer couses of foreign languages, business, politics and Chinese culture. Yokkaichi High School students at the Training Center on the photo.

Model base of Wan Miao farm

　This institute was established in 21st centry as a part of National Agriculture Complehensive Development Plan. They operate researches on rearing seedling, production research using biotechnology, cultivation of organic vegetables using micro-organism. Students visited green house cultivate cherry tomato, star-fruit, chili pepper, egg plant.

Xiang Nai Wei Si (Tianjin) Food Limited Company

Xiang Nai Wei Si Food Limited Company is a local subsidary of Taiyo Kagaku Cooperation, its' head office is located in Yokkaichi, Mie prefecture. Taiyo Kagaku Cooperation has established a local subsidary of bakery project as a joint enterprise with Francois Co., Ltd (Head office located in Fukuoka-city).

After a lecture of company's profile, students visited a factry. As they went along the production line, they had a lecture on the procedures off stirring ingredient, shaping, farmentation under refrigeration, baking, packing and shipping.

From Tianjin Musium of Modern History to Wu Da Dao (Five Great Avenue)

Tianjin Museum of Modern History was established on 1953. The Tianjin Museum has an extensive collection of ancient Chinese fine arts and exhibits on Tianjin's history. There are more than 100,000 collections of art and historic documents. The Museum was opened to only to our students on this day. After the visit of Museum, students visited Wu Da Dao (Five Great Avenue). It is a place used to be a British concession in a period of late 19th centry and beining of 20th centry. It is a distinguish area of Tianjin city and many Westerners reside in the area.
